For as long as I can remember I’ve loved two things - art and the human brain. Not the human brain in terms of the way find consciousness, what makes us who we are, but in the deep, tedious, neuroanatomy of it all.

As a child this translated to taking my mothers anatomy books off the shelf, meticulously drawing out every structure of the human brain in pink and purple crayola markers that now nostalgically resemble the slides I look at under the microscope.

Now, as a girl in my 20s this means that as I pursue a career in medicine I found myself longing for reconnection with art.
